Week of April 23rd

Welcome to Spirit Week in kindergarten! This week, April 23rd-27th is our spirit week and penny wars! Penny wars are boys against girls, so bring all of your spare change to try and win a free dress down day! Tuesday is pajama day, Wednesday is jersey day, Thursday is dress up as your favorite character or career and Friday is caring, wear a red or pink shirt with jeans.
We have quite a few dress down days coming up. Wednesday, May 2nd, is field day, dress in swim suit, shorts and t-shirt. Special Duds for Dollars for Kindergarten for our graduation:
Thursday, May 3rd
Thursday, May 10th
Tuesday, May 15th
This week we are continuing our restaurant unit and learning the sound that sh makes. We have learned all the letters of the alphabet and their sounds and your student should know all of these. Concentrate on u, y and w because students often confuse these. If your student is struggling please reinforce at home. This week is also March of Dimes which we will be walking and jumping rope for on Wednesday. If you would like to raise money, there are forms going home today.
We had a lot of fun on the field trips and got to see lots of behind the scenes action!
If you have not already marked your calendar please be sure to get Friday, May 18th off to come to our kindergarten graduation! This is something that our class works very hard on and is very important! This is a very special day so please feel free to take your student for the day and do a special lunch or family activity. We try to start the program at 9:00am and you need to drop your student off early, around 8:00 that morning, to get ready. If you have any questions please see me.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week in kindergarten! Only 22 more days, I can't believe it!

We are making a menu for a restaurant! We will hang these around the room to decorate and show off.
Over the week of AIMS we will be taking two field trips. This can be a very long week for our little guys because we have to sit quietly in our room all day, so we are getting out for the day on Tuesday, April, 17th and Thursday, April 19th. If you have not turned in your permission slips please do so ASAP!
This week we have Duds for Dollars on Wednesday, April 11th. Please remember that even though this is a dress down day your student still needs to wear closed toed, closed heel, shoes. This Duds for Dollars is to help us raise money for the Thumbs Up program. Can’t wait to see my styling students.
