Week of November 30th

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! The next two and a half weeks will be very busy, there is so much to do! We have our Holiday Performance on December 15th at 2:00 in the cafeteria, I hope that you can all make it. We are very excited to sing for you and are practicing daily!

We are also hoping to do gingerbread houses on the last day of school! We will need vanilla frosting, candy canes, m&m's, gumdrops and licorice. If you can think of any other fun candy that would look great on our houses please bring it in!

The money for the field is now due this Friday, December 4th at the very, very latest! If you need help with the finances please let me know and we can definitely work something out, but I need to know.

We have report cards coming out in the next two weeks and it is very important that you get the missing assignments into me before December 11th. If you need another copy of what your student is missing please let me know and I will print up another for you.

Week of November 16th

Mid-quarter was this last Friday and later this week I will be sending out a paper that says what assignments the students are missing. If you the those assignments please let me know and I will get you copies of those. The spelling words for this week are:

All of the kids are doing so great on the challenge words! I am so proud of how hard all the students are working on their words. Keep up the good work and if you need help studying please use http://www.spellingcity.com/ as a reference.
Please remember that I still need to collect the $8 from each student to go to the field trip in February, I will be sending permission slips home later this week.
We also still need a can of corn from each student for our feast this next Tuesday the 24th. We need enough for 725 people so please bring one can in!
I have sent in the book orders so hopefully the books will be arriving early in December.

Week of November 9th

We have a very exciting week coming up this week! There is no school on Veterans Day, Wednesday the 11th, and we are learning our song, Jingle Bell Rock for the winter show! Our spelling words this week are:

I had made the mistake of spelling Veterans Day with an apostrophe on their work sheet so we will fix it in class tomorrow. I guess this is because the day does not belong only to the veterans it belongs to everyone who is remembering the veterans.

Book orders need to be in by Friday the 13th, so that I can get them to Scholastic on time. Also, if you have money for the field trip in February, $8, please get that to me as soon as possible!

Week of October 5th

WOW!! I can not believe that it is already October and the first quarter is almost over! Times flies when you are having a great school year with a great class. The spelling words for this next week are the following:

If you have any questions about the report cards that are coming home on Friday please let me know and we will set up a conference time.
Reminder: There is a half day this Friday and we will be out at 11:30. There will be no lunch or after school available this day. There is also no school on October 12th or 13th for Fall Break. Enjoy your time off!
For the following week, October 14th-16th there will be no spelling homework due to the short week. Please remember to read with your child every night!

Pima Community College is doing a performance of Ramona Age 8. If you get the chance you should go see it, I think your student would realy love to see what Ramona and Beezus would be like in real life!
