Week of September 10th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  For the week of parent/teacher conferences I would like meet with everyone and go over the first quarter report cards.  These conferences will not be long, about ten minutes, just to explain the report card and what we will be looking for as the year progresses.  I will put a sign-up sheet on my classroom door, please find a time that works for you.

Friday, September 28th, is the last day of our quarter and that means it is a half day that ends at 11:30. There will be no after school and no lunch that day!  Every student needs to be picked up at 11:30.  We have that next week off for Fall Break, September 29th-October 7th.  The second quarter will begin on Monday, October 8th.
This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday. We will be working on the letter P and will be starting our fairy tale unit.  We are continuing writing numbers 1-25.  This is very challenging for the students, please reinforce at home. Our seedlings have not sprouted yet so we are going to keep them in class until we start to see some little green leaves. We will make sure to send them home as soon as this happens!
Also please count with your student every night.  Our goal is to count to 25 without skipping any numbers.
Just a reminder that the days that our school has volleyball games you will need to come pick your student up in our classroom.  If we are not outside by 3:15, that’s where we’ll be!  Games: September 11th, 13th, 21st, 25th and October 16th, 18th and 25th.  Some games might be rescheduled and I will try to keep you informed.  If we are not up front by 3:15, please come find us back in room 306.  Thank you!
This will be a great week!
