Week of October 8th

Welcome back after a very long, relaxing break!  I hope you are all ready to start quarter #2!  Just a reminder that Duds for Dollars is this Wednesday, October 8th. We have our first field trip coming up on Thursday, October 25th.  We will be going to Buckelew Farms and picking a pumpkin from the pumpkin path.  The cost will be $6 per person and your student will need to bring a sack lunch that day for our picnic afterwards.  I will be sending home the permission slips this week!  If you would like to join us for the field trip we would love to have you!  The two important things to know are that in order to chaperone we need to have a copy of your fingerprints in the office.  Mrs. Stewart is the person you will need to talk to about having your fingerprints done. Secondly, due to lack of room on the bus, you will need to provide your own transportation to Buckelew Farms.  Thank you!
Peanut is really enjoying his weekend getaways with all of you, he tells us about them every Monday J  If you have already taken Peanut home this year, please feel free to sign up for another weekend again!  There are also long breaks, like Thanksgiving and Christmas that we will be looking for a kind family to take Peanut home.
This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday. Thank you all for turning in your beautiful collages!  I can tell you worked very hard and I am impressed by all the creativity.  We will be learning the letter N and its sound this week as well as blending more sounds together to make new words!  We will start writing our numbers to 50 and this Friday as a treat we have the Kid Ambulance coming to give us a tour J
Also please count with your student every night.  Our goal is to count to 50 without skipping any numbers this next quarter.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week of kindergarten!
