Week of November 26th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  The Holiday Shop will be open this week and we will be taking our tour on Monday, and then our shopping day will be on Thursday the 29^th.  You can send money with  your student this week and we will make sure that they go during their shopping time on Thursday.  This is a great opportunity for the kids to shop for something special for their siblings and family members.

It is finally starting to get cold!  So exciting!  Please remember that any jackets that your student would like to wear inside need to be red, white or navy blue.  If you are going to wear a long sleeved shirt it also needs to be red, white or navy blue.  The kids have been growing like crazy!  Please make sure that they can still tuck their shirts in as per dress code.

Our Holiday Show is going to be on Tuesday, December 18^th, and it usually starts around 9:00-9:15. This is a special day so if you would like to take your student to a special lunch or activity afterwards please feel free to make plans and have a wonderful day together! We will have a half day the next day, Wednesday, December 19^th, with no lunch and no after school.

This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday. When writing the words please make sure that your student is also sounding out the words.  If they are having trouble please help them blend the sounds.  Keep working on your reading logs, we are sending home Book-it tickets and anyone who turns in all their reading logs each month can earn one!  Keep up the reading and finding sight words on the text.

Also please count with your student to at least 50 every night and practicing writing the numbers to 50!

Week of November 13th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  I hope everyone had a restful, long weekend and is ready for a week full of Thanksgiving fun!  

It is finally starting to get cold!  So exciting!  Please remember that any jackets that your student would like to wear inside need to be red, white or navy blue.  If you are going to wear a long sleeved shirt it also needs to be red, white or navy blue.  The kids have been growing like crazy!  Please make sure that they can still tuck their shirts in as per dress code.

Progress reports were sent home last Friday.  Please work with your student on any of the high- lighted areas, especially letter identification and sounds.  Those teens are still very tricky so keep working on those at home.  When reading have your student follow along with their finger, this really helps to learn some of those sight words that we see over and over again!  

We are having our Harvest Feast on Tuesday, November 20^th.  Please bring in $1 for stuffing that Old Pueblo Grille is going to make for our whole school!  Our Holiday Show is going to be on Tuesday, December 18^th, and it usually starts around 9:00.  We will have a half day the next day, Wednesday, December 19^th, and then we will be on break!
