Valentine’s
Day is this Thursday, February 14th so please bring in your
Valentine’s Day cards Thursday or earlier.
We have 30 students in our class and instead of writing names on the
cards please just leave them blank in the “to” section; only fill out whom it
is from. It is much easier and faster
for the students to pass them out to their friends this way.
The Friday Dress rules have
changed and there will be random uniform checks throughout the week. If your
student is in dress code they will be able to wear jeans on Friday. If your student is not in dress code during
this random check they will be given a slip of paper that says they did not
earn Friday Dress that week. We will
keep a list on the board as well if you have any questions! If you do not get a
slip that says No Dress Down, then your student may wear jeans.
This week homework will go
home on Monday and it is due Friday. We
will be learning the letter Y and the sound that it makes. This week is
Valentine’s Day and Arizona’s birthday so we will be reading lots of nonfiction
books about Arizona and our social studies activities will be based around
learning about The Grand Canyon State!
For homework you and our student will research and write down three
facts about Arizona. You may use books,
the Internet, encyclopedias or even take a trip to library to do some real
research. Please make sure that your
student writes these facts themselves.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week of kindergarten!
