Week of March 18th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  I will not be in on Monday as I will be out of town for a memorial service.  If you need to get ahold of me, please email me and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

The last snack calendar is going home today!  Just a reminder, there are 30 students in our class and please make sure that the snacks do not contain any peanuts or peanut products.  Please bring in a snack that is pre-package.  Some favorites are fruit snacks, chips, granola bars, and string cheese.  If you would like to bring in juice as well that would be a treat that the kids love!
Get your calendars out, time to plan for our end of the year celebration!  This year we will do our kindergarten celebration on Friday, May 17th and start around 9:00.  This is a big day for the students so please plan a fun day for you and your student afterwards!  I know getting time off from work can be a challenge sometimes, so I want to make sure everyone has plenty of time!
I am sending home a big homework packet today that will be for this week and to work on over spring break.  Please remember to read with your student over the break, we are getting ready for first grade and need to read, read, read!  Spring Break is from Friday, March 22nd, until Tuesday, April 2nd.  Enjoy your break and stay safe!
Homework this week will be for this week and over Spring Break.  We will be learning the letter X and the sound that it makes. Sometimes this can be a tricky sound for students because not too many words start with this letter.  When your student practices this sound make sure they are making a ‘ks’ sound.  In math we are doing lots of addition!  If your student is having trouble remind they can use dots next to the numbers or crayons to help them add.  We had so much fun making our Leprechaun Traps, and I heard that some students even caught one… J
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week!
