Week of March 4th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  Get your calendars out, time to plan for our end of the year celebration!  This year we will do our kindergarten celebration on Friday, May 17th and start around 9:00.  This is a big day for the students so please plan a fun day for you and your student afterwards!  I know getting time off from work can be a challenge sometimes, so I want to make sure everyone has plenty of time!

The third quarter is coming to a close, can you believe it?!?  Report card day is next Friday, March 15th, and it will be a half day, ending at 11:30 with NO LUNCH AND NO AFTER SCHOOL.  Please plan on picking up your student at 11:30 that day.  Like the last few report card days we will be waiting in our room with our backpacks on and ready!  This helps with confusion and the mess up front that day! J
The Friday Dress rules have changed and there will be random uniform checks throughout the week. If your student is in dress code they will be able to wear jeans on Friday.  If your student is not in dress code during this random check they will be given a slip of paper that says they did not earn Friday Dress that week.  We will keep a list on the board as well if you have any questions! If you do not get a slip that says No Dress Down, then your student may wear jeans.
This week homework will go home on Monday and it is due Friday.  We will be learning the letter J and the sound that it makes. There are so many silly Dr. Seuss stories that we will be continuing the Dr. Seuss unit for another week.  We are starting testing for report cards this week and the homework for this week will be a good review for your student.  When it comes to writing 1-75 challenge your student to write all the numbers without looking at the cheat sheet on top, because it will not be there for the test!
I'm looking forward to another great week!
