Penny Wars are happening this week and it is boys versus girls!! Ever since I have taught at La Paloma Academy the girls have won the free dress down day. Could this be the year the boys win? Pennies count toward your team and if you bring in silver or dollars you can put them in the opposing team and they will count against them! Earlier this year we filled up the jars 4 times, can we do it again?
We
had such a good time on our field trips last week and already sent our thank
you letters out to OPG and Outback Steakhouse!
Some of the comments I overheard while we were eating were,” Wow, it’s
like we’re the adults!,” and ,” Excuse me sir, may I have some more
punch?” For our last field trip we will
be going to Lucky Strike Bowl on Monday, May 20th. The cost is $6 and parents may meet us there
as long as your fingerprints are up in the office and you let me know you will
be joining us.
Homework will go home today
and is due this Friday. Part of the
homework is having your student write down their phone number and address. This
week we will be learning the letter Q and the sound that it makes. We are now
counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100 and writing our numbers to 100 as
well. We have been doing lots of writing
lately and working on sounding out words.
We are also practicing subtraction and deciding when we should use it
when we practice our word problems. Some new sight words to start reviewing at
home are come, that and said.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week!
