The
kindergarten celebration is on Friday, May 17th and will start
around 9:00. You may bring as many
family members as you would like to the ceremony. It will take place on the field so there will
be plenty of room. The students may
dress up for this occasion, but please no heels for the girls! After the performance there will be cupcakes
and juice on the basketball court.
AIMS
testing is coming this next week, April 15th-April 19th.
This is a very important test for the older students and to help give them as
much quiet as we can to help them concentrate we will work very quietly in our
room. Please make sure that your student is on time that week, especially if
you have a student taking the AIMS. If
they are late there is a chance they will have to sit in the office until the testing
period is over.
To try and break up the
week of AIMS for the students we will be taking two field trips for our
restaurant unit! The first on Tuesday,
April 16th, is to OPG and the second on Thursday, April 18th
is to Outback Steakhouse. Both of these
field trips are FREE and we get to do and see so many neat things! Please remember that field trips are a privilege,
so if there is unacceptable behavior on or before the first field trip that
student will not be coming on the second.
Homework this week will be
for this week and next week and is a very fun assignment. We will be learning the letter W and the
sound that it makes. Sometimes this can be a tricky sound for students because they
confuse the sound that W makes and the sound Y makes. Please review with your students this week! We are now counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s to
100 and writing our numbers to 100 as well.
We are also practicing subtraction and deciding when we should use it when
we practice our word problems. Some new sight words to start reviewing at home
are come and that.
