Week of May 6th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  The kindergarten celebration is on Friday, May 17th and will start around 9:00.  You may bring as many family members as you would like to the ceremony.  It will take place on the field so there will be plenty of room.  The students may dress up for this occasion, but please no heels for the girls!  After the performance there will be cupcakes and juice on the basketball court.
While we are still solving the mystery of where Peanut may have gone, we are also looking for a loving family to take Peanut home for the summer!  If you have an interest please let me know as soon as possible and you can enjoy a summer of fun with little Peanut!
For our end of the year party we will be going bowling at Lucky Strike Bowl on Speedway.  If you would like to join us please let me know as soon as possible!!! Just a reminder that you NEED to have your fingerprint card up in the office to attend.  Julie only does fingerprinting on certain days so please make sure that you check with office sooner than later if you need to get them done.  I sent home permission slips last week. Please turn them in on or before the due date!!
Homework will go home today and is due this Friday. This will be our last homework assignment of kindergarten! We are starting report card testing so please practice writing numbers to 100, sight words, and letters and letter sounds. We have been counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100 and writing our numbers to 100 as well.  We have been doing lots of writing lately and working on sounding out words.  We are also practicing subtraction and deciding when we should use it when we practice our word problems. Some new sight words to start reviewing at home are come, that and said.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week of kindergarten!!
