Week of August 26th

        Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  If anyone can help, we are looking for some printer paper!  We are in need of some blank paper for copies and some colored printer paper if you find any fun colors!  I really appreciate all of your support!
         Volleyball season is upon us and there will be a few days that I will not be able to walk the students up front for pick-up due to a game.  I will try and make you aware of the dates ahead of time, but if for some reason I forget, please just come back to the room to pick up your student if we are not out front by 3:15. J
  Our first school fundraiser has been going on for a week now!  If you have sold your book or have sold many books and need to turn in your envelope with the order forms please bring them to Ms. Hayde or I in the classroom.  If you were unable to sell your book please bring it back to us to check it in.  The last day to turn in money or the book will be September 4th so good luck and good selling!
        This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday.  We are working on counting and carnality in math and there will be some worksheets in this week’s homework to help work on these skills.  We have also been working on writing our numbers.  Sometimes learning to write numbers can be very frustrating for students, just keep up the positive reinforcement with your student during homework time!

Also please count with your student every night.  Our goal is to count to 25 without skipping any numbers.

Week of August 19th

           Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten! This Tuesday, August 20^th will be picture day at school.  These pictures are available to order, but they are also for the yearbook so please make sure that your student wears their uniform that day.  If you need another order form check with the office and please make sure that your student knows if they have an order form in their backpack!
          I just wanted to remind everyone that after school if you pick your student up and arrive after 3:20-3:25, we will be back in our classroom, or after 4:30 will be in room 312.  Wednesdays are very tricky days because lunch starts at 11:15 for after school but dismissal is at 11:30.  We will only wait until about 11:35-11:40 before we head into lunch.

          This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday.  We are still working on writing our name the “kindergarten way.”  This means that only the first letter of their name is capitalized.  Please have your student trace their name and then write it by themselves on the same line.  We will also be working on the letter O and will have will be continuing our garden unit.  Everyone else does spring flowers, but I like to do fall harvest!
