Week of September 23rd

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday.  Please make sure that your student is completing their homework in pencil.  We are big kindergarteners and always use pencil!
Keep counting and working on letters and letter sounds with our student.  We are going through the alphabet right now and reviewing all the letters and letter sounds!
Also please count with your student every night.  Really focus on those tricky teen numbers, they are often skipped when counting. Our goal is to count to 25 without skipping any numbers.
We will be having parent/teacher conferences this week, September 26th-October 2nd.  If you have not signed up for a time, please sign up!! If you do not see a time that works for you please email me.  Each conference will be 10 minutes long, so it will be very important that you are on time so we can start right away.
During conferences we will be going over the report cards and any questions for the year.
Volleyball season is upon us and there will be a few days that I will not be able to walk the students up front for pick-up due to a game.  Upcoming games:
Tuesday, September 24th
Thursday, September 26th
Thursday, October 3rd
If you would like to take Peanut for a weekend please come in and sign up!  If you have already taken Peanut and would like to take him home any weekend please feel free to sign up.  We are also looking for donations of guinea pig food for Peanut.  If you are able to bring some in we would greatly appreciate it!
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week!

We are starting Book It this month!  If your student turns in their reading logs for every week this month they can earn a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut!  Reading every night with your student is very important and I love to see what you are reading!
This week please continue the homework from last week.  There is the packet of work and the poster about themselves. Please help them with this project and they will present their poster to the class and we will show them off in the room.
Keep counting and working on letters and letter sounds with our student.  Especially review those that they may have missed on their progress report.
Also please count with your student every night.  Our goal is to count to 25 without skipping any numbers.
