Week of September 3rd

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  Thank you so much for those of you who brought in printer paper!  We appreciate it very much J  And a big thank you for bringing in the apples on Friday!  We had a great time working on our apple experiment with “Dr. Science.”  Thank you for all your help!  I posted a picture of our experiment results on our class blog!
Volleyball season is upon us and there will be a few days that I will not be able to walk the students up front for pick-up due to a game.  Upcoming games:

Tuesday, September 3rd
Tuesday, September 10th
Tuesday, September 24th
Progress reports will be going home today, Tuesday, September 3rd.  Highlighted areas are skills that your student needs some reinforcement with at home. Some reinforcement ideas are counting in the car. It is a great way to pass the time and you have a captive audience for the entire ride!  Another fun game to play is memory, but your student has to tell the word or letter name and sound before they can keep the cards!
This week homework will go home today, Tuesday, and is due on Friday.  We are working on counting and carnality in math and there will be some worksheets in this week’s homework to help work on these skills.  We have also been working on writing our numbers.  Sometimes learning to write numbers can be very frustrating for students, just keep up the positive reinforcement with your student during homework time!

Also please count with your student every night.  Our goal is to count to 25 without skipping any numbers.
I'm looking forward to another wonderful week!
