Week of December 16th

Welcome to another wonderful week in kindergarten!  We have 61 cans right now and if everyone brings in one more we could win with 91 cans!!!!  Some items they are looking for are: potatoes(box), stuffing(box), peanut butter and jelly, gravy(can), tuna(can), rice(bag), beans(bags and cans), spaghetti and sauce, soups, corn(can), green beans(can), cereal(boxed), yams(can) and boxed brownies.
Our second field trip will be on Thursday, January 23rd to Sabino Canyon.  We will be learning about our desert environment and doing a bunch of cool activities!  For this field trip we will need 3 parent chaperones, and there is one spot open! If you are interested please let me know ASAP!  The first  parent who talk with/email me their interest will hold the available spot!
This week in class we will be reviewing the skills we have learned this semester and taking our unit 6 math test.  I will be sending report cards home this week with a copy of the 2nd quarter test.  Please reinforce highlighted areas at home with your student.  We are half way through the year and this next semester we will be getting ready for 1st grade!  Ms. Hayde and I stop tying shoelaces after break, so that would be something good to practice over the break.  In addition, keep reading with your student and encourage them to keep a journal of what they did over the break.  I would love to read about your adventures!  Have a wonderful break J
This Friday, December 20th, we will be making gingerbread Christmas Trees!  I sent home a list with your student last Thursday of the item that they will need to bring.  Please send the item in by Thursday, December 19th.  We have a list of the items if you need a reminder!  Thank you so much for your support!
Have a wonderful break and happy holidays to you all!!!
