Week of February 24th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  At the end of the year we will have a kindergarten celebration! We put on a concert for all of you parents and then you can take your student for a very special day, a whole day to celebrate becoming a 1st grader!  We will have the celebration on Friday, May 16th at 9:00am.  I know it can be hard to get time off, and I wanted to be sure to give you plenty of notice!
Sunday, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday!  In honor of this talented author your student may wear a Dr. Seuss shirt and jeans on Friday.  You can also wear some crazy socks to school that day.  We will also have special Dr. Seuss homework this week.  Your student will create 3 silly characters in the Dr. Seuss fashion.  Have fun with this and have your student practice the names that they make up because they will be presenting their characters on Friday!
This week we will be working on the letter F and the sound it makes.  We will also start working on composing and decomposing numbers to 10.
We will also be learning about tooth health and how to take care of our teeth and gums!
Next week we will start report card testing so keep working on those tricky teen numbers, sight words and counting to 75 without skipping any numbers.
We are looking for old shoe boxes for a class project on March 14th.  If you have any old boxes please send them in!  Every student will need one so if you see a shoe box laying around bring it on in!
