Week of April 28th

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  If there is a certain 1st grade class you would like your student to be in next year you need to make your request very soon!  We will be dividing students into different classes and in the next week or so and would like to honor your request.  Thank you!
This week we will be learning the letter and sound of Y and Q and reviewing all sight words. In math we will be working on sorting, categorizing and classifying data. Homework this week will be the very last homework of the year! It is a small packet to help review for all the report card testing that will be coming up soon.
On Friday I sent home a list of sight words your student needs to work on.  Once they know all their sight words they get to pick from the prize box!
La Paloma Academy will be having it’s annual summer camp at all campuses this year!  If you are interested please contact the front office.  We have a flyer on our door and there is lots of information on the LPA website as well.  There will be also a small summer program from June 2nd -26th from 8am-12pm to review skills from kindergarten and into 1st grade.  Please see the office for applications.
At the end of the year we will have a kindergarten celebration! We put on a concert for all of you parents and then you can take your student for a very special day, a whole day to celebrate becoming a 1st grader!  We will have the celebration on Friday, May 16th at 9:00am.  I know it can be hard to get time off, and I wanted to be sure to give you plenty of notice!
