Week of October 22nd

Welcome to another wonderful week of kindergarten!  We have our first field trip coming up on Thursday, October 25^th.  We will be going to Buckelew Farms and picking a pumpkin from the pumpkin path.  If you have not turned in your field trip permission form yet please do so ASAP!!  I will be sending home a note with more specifics later this week so that you know what to bring Thursday.

Peanut is really enjoying his weekend getaways with all of you, he tells us about them every Monday J If you have already taken Peanut home this year, please feel free to sign up for another weekend again!  There are also long breaks, like Thanksgiving and Christmas that we will be looking for a kind family to take Peanut home. 

This Friday, October 26^th, is our school’s Harvest Festival!  This is a very fun night during which your student may wear their Halloween costume and come play games and win prizes.  There is lots of food and fun and all the proceeds go to buying new technology for our school.  If you are able to volunteer at our golf game that night please sign up on our door.  Thank you for your help!

This week homework will go home today, Monday, and is due on Friday.  There is a new paper in your student’s homework packet this week.  Ask your student the questions and then record their response.  We are working on listening to the text to find the answers to questions.  We will be learning the letter I and its sound this week as well as blending more sounds together to make new words!  In science we are learning about Drug Awareness and how we can make our body’s happy and healthy!

Also please count with your student to at least 50 every night.
